Out of curiosity, one can obviously see the hardware differences on the front panel on the 710 units over the past 12 years as standards have changed.
However, have the internal specs of the unit remained the same over the past 12 years between the 3 hardware versions?
I guess the same could be asked of all units with hardware revisions.
No they haven’t stayed the same. Each physical change has seen an internal platform upgrade.
So how can one find specs differences on the different Hardware Revisions?
The main difference is support throughput and there is a handy post here:
If I get stuck and need something historic I use the wayback machine on the internet archive.

HW2 2011

That’s an extremely useful reference – although a bit out of date now. But it’s all we’ve got. (I’m thinking there may have been some changes, new HW revs, new products since 2017. ) I’ve asked @Alan for an updated list/posting and for similar information on the MAX series but have not heard back.
Hi Martin,
Wonder if I have Balance 710 HW2 & Balance 710 HW3 with the same firmware version, can I perform the High Availability configuration?
This is not recommended. B710 hw2 cannot support latest firmware. Please consider to perform hardware refresh for the old model if you want to have HA setup.
