US Data Plan on LTE CAT-18 Models

Tmobile 100G for 65.00 data only post paid LTE cat 18 stuck on trying to obtain IP address.
Tmobile provided new SIM same issue. Looks like Tmobile did collect the IMEI as the store showed me it listed on the screen. They are telling me everything on their end looks good but somehow the pepwave is not registering on their tower

I just switched to the AT&T 100GB for $55 for my MAX Transit Cat 18. Took my IMEI number to the AT&T store (I needed a SIM card anyway)… put the card in the router when I got home and it came right up. Definitely an excellent option if you are using less than 100GB a month.

I just purchased a pepwave CAT 18 and a 3rd party t-mobile unlimited plan. If I would have known all the issues with the Cat 18 I would have went with the CAT 12.
Has anyone had any luck with the prepaid t-mobile plans?
I might look at returning the router for the Cat 12.

@WinnePep the “first party” t-mobile prepaid data-only plans work fine on Peplink devices.

T-Mobile Magenta - not functioning in (at least two) CAT-18 devices
Two data points: The T-Mobile magenta plan does not connect when deployed into a Transit CAT-18 or a FlexModule Mini CAT-18.

The same SIM cards work (very) well in (at least) a transit duo CAT-12 and a FlexModule Mini CAT-12.

T-Mobile may (or may not) throttle after 22GB/month usage. We have experienced both, presumably based on whether the carrier interprets the use as hot-spot’ing or not.

Has anyone reached out to T-mobile to get a definitive answer as to why the blocked the CAT-18 modems?

@WeiMing
Please add ATT post-paid Unlimited Choice(R) II plan to list also.

Lines are clarified as being a phone or a hotspot, but have no issue connecting with CAT-18 Transit.

@Cable17, thanks for the info. It has been updated as item (13) in the list. :slight_smile:

Redpocket | ATT - would only connect 3G. unusable

Fortunately, this is no longer the case in 2023. :tada: Specifically, this is the Red Pocket GSMA sim. I only needed to configure the APN to ERESELLER, and it worked great, connecting with LTE-A (the highest supported on my MAX Transit Duo Pro).
