I have a weird problem I’m not sure how to fix. I have a Max Transit Duo Pro (firmware 8.5.1 build 5714) as my Synergized Controller (SC) and a Max BR1 Mini 5G (firmware 8.5.1 build 5203) as my SD. StarLink is on the WAN connection on the SD and has been working fine ever since I first set it up. I haven’t tried to use StarLink for a while and just noticed this weekend that the StarLink WAN was completely missing from the list of WANs.
It’s not the dish - I can connect to it through the StarLink app. It’s just missing from the WAN list. No settings were changed before this happened, and resetting the Synergy connection or the StarLink settings don’t change anything. The warranty on the BR1 Mini expired in January, probably since the last time I noticed StarLink was listed with the rest of the WANs - I think only the SC needs to have InControl active to support one SD like I have, but is it possible that the process of the warranty expiring on the SD caused this? If so, how would I get it to work again?
Yes, the Transit is still covered by Primecare. I thought that should be enough for it as a SC with one SD even if the SD isn’t covered by Primecare. Any ideas how to fix it? Do I need to reset the SD to factory defaults and start the initial synergy process again?
Yes I think it should work as you mentioned.
If you have time, I would open a support ticket and ask peplink to comment and resolve before factory resetting it starting over.
100% it’s related to the PrimeCare on the Mini. Keep in mind, unless the feature pack was purchased for the Mini, you must have the Mini under PrimeCare in order to utilize the wired WAN port on the Mini.
The reason it worked in Year 1 (+ 1-2mth grace period) is that the MINI includes PrimeCare in Year 1 which includes the enabling of the Wired WAN port. After the initial year of PrimeCare expires, the only way to keep it enabled is to either purchase the WAN Feature Pack or re-enable PrimeCare.
Ok thanks. I didn’t realize PrimeCare was required to maintain use of the WAN port and was just focusing on the fact that a single SD shouldn’t need its own PrimeCare to be active if the SC had PrimeCare active.
