RS232 over IP BR1 Mini M2M

Dear Peplink Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out for your urgent technical validation regarding an ongoing project.

We are evaluating the deployment of 140 MAX BR1 Mini M2M units for an industrial client. The main requirement is to transport RS232 data over IP through a private Ethernet network (customer cloud – WAN Ethernet), and then convert it back from WAN Ethernet to RS232 at the remote site. In other words, a point-to-point RS232 over IP link, while maintaining low latency, low jitter, and high reliability for industrial operations.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Whether the MAX BR1 Mini M2M natively supports this scenario.
  2. What would be the recommended configuration to implement this setup (e.g., Serial-over-IP client/server mode, or through SpeedFusion/IPsec VPN tunnels).

We would greatly appreciate your prompt technical validation so we can move forward with the proposal to our client.

@Juan_Mu_oz2717 here are a few use case scenarios we have for your reference.

A typical topology could be:

[Serial Device] <~RS232 connection~> [Serial Interface | Peplink | WAN/VPN] <===IP Connection===> [VPN/WAN | Peplink | LAN] <===IP/Ethernet===> [PC/Host with Terminal Emulation Program]

See if that helps.
