I just upgraded to the new iOS router utility and now I cannot access my 2 Balance 305 routers. I immediately get the error “Unable to reach router”. Everything was fine prior to this new version. Alert to community, DO NOT upgrade yet until they fix this. Not sure if this is specific to the Balance and/or Balance 305’s since that’s the only product I have. I just know it was working fine before the new version and now it doesn’t. I’ve tried removing and reading, trying to access view inside IPs, everything.
It’s not just your Balance 305s. I just updated to 8.5.2 and now have the exact same issue with my Balance Two.
I can select “Edit” from the 3-dot menu and see/change the most basic router profile info that rarely gets touched after initial config, and in the list, the BalTwo shows “Online” but any attempt to actually use app to access the router to see/manage the unit and/or all the info I could prior to the update fails with the “Unable to reach” error message. I can’t even clear the notification count (returns same error.)
Not good…
I have the same issue but for only 1 of my 3 routers. The one with the problem is a balance one core. The app shows as being online and loads for about half a second where I can briefly see it and then I get unable to reach router. The other 2 routers are a balance one and a B one. Firmware on the one not connecting is up to date. Tried changing the password and http vs https with no success.
Same issue here… try with bpl-305 (8.4.1 with primecare)… just open the app for about half a second.
Same issue with BR1ENT (8.5.2) no primecare.
Update…
I can open, using the app:
- MAX HD4 MFA (old device, running 8.5.2), no primecare
- MAX BR2 pro (running 8.5.2) with primecare
- TST-DUO- NOT PRO! (8.2.1) with primecare
- MAX 700 hw3 (8.5.2) with primecare
- br1mini hw1 (8.3.0) with primecare
Same problem with my Balance One Core. “Unable to reach router” after connecting for 1/2 second. Shows up “online” and good to go in the router listing. Can connect to a newly installed B One easily. Running 8.5.2 Build 5746 on Balance One Core. Running Router Utility 3.0.0.
Hello Peplink. Anyone listening?
@WeiMing can you please escalate this issue? Your brand new iOS app is broken and no one seems to be aware.
To all, we apologize for the mistake that omitted the QA process models without built-in Wi-Fi, such as most of the Balance series and higher-end models like SDX, SDX Pro, etc.
The team has identified the issue, and the fix is undergoing the QA process, it should be available in a few days, released as version 3.0.1. Stay tuned.
Thank you for addressing this.
Hi All, the RU - Mobile App for iOS version 3.0.1 has just been released today and I did a quick test, the “Unable to reach router” is fixed. You may give it a try and let us know the outcome.
All good. Thanks for fixing.
TU @WeiMing . The present version works perfectly on iOS now – and is highly recommended. Please pass our thanks to the devs for their work.
Working for me. However i cannot reorder any items in the list.
Thanks for the fix.
