Pepwave max transit issue

Hi there so looking for some help i have a second hand pepwave max transit 4g router

ive got one data card in port 1 as i want to use it with just one card

ive tried to hard reset it by holding in the reset button for 15 seconds and at first the router shows up with its own name and i can login and access it with default factory password however after about 20 seconds if that it disconnects and reverts back to the old owners network name and i need a password to connect… i can understand why this is happening as i would presum a hard reset you wipe every thing… can any one help with this
regards

Hi…

  • Turn on your device, without wan or sim card.
  • hard reset it
  • after login on it.
  • go to system > incontrol > " controller " disabled
  • save and apply

okay?

Hi thanks for the reply
So i managed to get onto the router long enough to turn off the incontrol before i reconfig i think the mistake i was making was i was clicking save but not applying the changes this seems to of fixed the issue of it configuring to a past users details

My question now would be i tried to make my own into controll to link to this device with serial number and it told me this device is already linked to another incontrol account which i presume is a former owner…

Ive read peplink cant do anything for this on there side and the only option is to contact the former owner and get them to clear this which this is not possible…

A question would be even if i could use the incontrol 2 if i make sure the inconfigure is kept turned off when i make this router live how will i know for sure that no past 3rd party owner of this router is accessing any of my information or any status reports ?

Hi…

About: " Ive read peplink cant do anything for this on there side and the only option is to contact… "
Answer: Correct… This is the only way.

About: " make this router live how will i know for sure that no past 3rd party owner of this router is accessing any of my information … "
Answer: keeping the Incontrol in disabled mode, nobody will see your device or will have an away to remotely access it.

Look below…

You can manage outbound traffic… So you can do a rules to control your device and the data traffic generated by it self.

download 8.4.1.s032…

Thanks for the help You would have to help me abit more with the rules as mine is diffrent to how yours shows

There is a missing “always should have this rule”.
