I think there is a difference here between Compatible with and certified.

Indeed there is. However the Transit Duo has been certified since 2017 so its just a question of commercial contract compatibility. From my loose reading of the forum around this it seems Verizon don’t always allow some SIMs / contracts to work (the cheapest ones) preferring you have a commercial / m2m sim/contract.

I tried my active version SIM card, which was activated on a different device (an iPad) and it worked for about 10-15 minutes and then stopped working. When I called Verizon they said they show that the card is not in an approved device and read me back the IMEI of my CAT18 Max Transit. They told me I could use the sim in the registered device or switch the card to another allowable device. Turns out…

One of our test setups ran through 117GB in July on a Visible SIM card (but not on a CAT18 device). The 5 Mbps limit seems to be a thing of the past. Aside from the effect of running at a lower priority than Verizon SIM cards on Verizon’s network when the network is congested the experience has been that the Visible connections run a t the same speed as Verizon’s, possibly with a somewhat higher latency.
