Firmware v5.2.2 to 7.0

We have a Peplink Balance 220 that is really outdated as far as firmware. Can we jump right to 7.0 or do we need to do this in steps? Any idea how long it takes? This is running in a retail store and we don’t want to disrupt our sales transmissions while doing this.

Thanks for the help,

Please provide the screenshot of the System Information (Status > Device).

That is pretty old so I recommend going to 5.4.9 > 6.3.3 > 7.0.0

The firmware archives are available on our site and you will need your firmware unlock key in order to go to 6.3.3:

Thanks.

Need some additional help. We went in and created the incontrol2 account.
Got the key. We downloaded all of the updates to load them from the
computer. We tried to log back into the Peplink at the 192.168.1.1
address, but now it will not take the default user name and password. We
didn’t change that at any time. Is there a way to do a hard factory reset
on this? We have no way to get into it now to update.

Thanks,

Yes, there is a small hole to do a pin reset to factory defaults.

We got in, and did the first update. When we did the next, 6.3.3, it ask
for the key. I copied it from the incontrol2, but it keeps saying invalid
key. What now?

I think I just got it. When I clicked on the key, I found the rest of it.
There is == at the end of it. Is that part of it?

One more question,
When I look on incontrol2, it says the device is ofline, when I know it is
connected. How do I fix that?

Take a look at this Devices fail to show ‘Online’ in InControl

Hope it helps
