We are pleased to announce that Firmware 8.5.0 Beta 3 is now available.
Release Notes
I don’t know if it’s still an issue in B3, but on a B one 5g, we had an outage where the vlan dhcp server stopped serving ip addresses.
Ticket number 24071070 @sitloongs @WeiMing Please update here once resolved.
We did a test lab with a similar setup that ran on firmware 8.5.0 Beta 3 but it didn’t exhibit such behavior.
If others in the community experience the same symptom please let us know.
I have discussed with Jonathan as well. This potential related to the complex design for drop in mode + L2SF + special connection to the FortiGate Firewall. It should not be related to the 8.3.0 Beta 3 firmware.
Yes we are still working thru the issue, not positive where the issue is yet.
Hello @Lai & Peplink Community,
Please check that the issue reported in 8.4.1 and patched with 8.4.1s032 has not reappeared in this beta release 8.5.0b03.
The issue of “Updating Routes” was resolved here ( [Known Issue] [v8.4.1] SpeedFusion may get stuck on “Updating Routes” if no devices are connected to LAN port. ). However, it appears again in Firmware 8.5.0b03 with the Peplink BR2 Pro 5G and SDX models.
We have raised a Peplink Ticket 24080009 with supporting evidence of images & diagnostic files for the Peplink Engineering team.
Happy to Help,
Marcus

Hi:
I’ve upgraded to Beta 3… I’m not seeing Docker mgt in IC2. From the release notes:
31957 [Beta 1] [Docker] Added Docker management support via InControl.
Can someone point me to it? I’m looking for it…
Seems like the device type detection does not work anymore with Beta 3:
The Client List - device Type glitch has been fixed in 8.5.0 RC 1, which shall be available soon.
It is under the Group > Settings, I have my test device with a Docker app installed.
When I click on the icon under the Action column, it displays the Docker container of the router.
I tried that. No docker mgt in my IC2 Device group.
I’ve been alerted by a scanning software that TCP port 53 is open. I’ve tried to close it but haven’t found an effective way. Even after upgrading the firmware to 8.4.1, the issue persists. Will upgrading to firmware 8.5 resolve this problem?
We did a quick check with our lab device on firmware 8.4.1 and didn’t see the same behavior as you described unless you manually enabled the DNS Server or Port Forwarding TCP:53.
Can you submit a ticket (and quote this post) for our team to further review?
This Peplink device indeed serves as a DNS server. However, when you mentioned opening TCP port 53, were you referring to the Peplink itself? Is there an option within the Peplink’s configuration to disable TCP 53 for DNS?
