@TK_Liew
Thanks for the response. I’ve now applied 8.3 to another unit and don’t see the behavior. The settings are very simple so I suspect that something got corrupted reverting backwards and forwards with 8.3 so I will factory reset.
BTW, I really, really, really like the performance of DWB in 8.3.. Great work by the Peplink team!
will it be possible to use the “Device Connector Rugged” in Synergy Mode? If currently not, that would be an awesome addition. We use the Device Conncector Rugged to bring Wifi-WAN to Routers lacking this feature. So it would make total sense to run the Device Connector Normal/Rugged in Synergy mode connected to any of the routers supporting it.
About the ‘new’ Dynamic Weighted Bonding and TCP-Rampup.
We’re using the Peplink Routers for Mobile Events. We often have to combine existing Hotel LANs(WANs), Wifi-WAN and our own 4G/5G Plans to have a reliable fast connection wherever we are. As far as i have seen in the Webinars about the new features, the new Dynamic Weighted Bonding looks like to make our life much easier. On the other link side we have FusionHubs running on dedicated Servers in the Datacenter. So, these new Features “Dynamic Weighted Bonding” and “TCP Rampup” should be enabled on boths sides right?
There is no config.
Hard reset of the Peplink Max BR2 Pro, so super clean.
No other config on it but just the SpeedFusion Connect VPN setup.
The rest is blank.
no traffic over the VPN.
Wipe router again with old 8.2.1 firmware.
same setup just the SFC VPN setup and works great.
In the 8.3.x firmware, a new device shows up, VLAN WAN 1. It appears this can be used for an additional WAN uplink, but it isn’t entirely clear how that works. Guessing the manual for this new firmware will have details, but haven’t seen that yet.
An interesting note is in the configuration for that device, you can specify LAN or WAN. So I’m curious, on a MAX BR1 Pro 5G or Pro LTE 20, can this be used to turn one of the LAN ports into another WAN port? I have on the LTE 20, a fiber uplink on the WAN, but would like to add a Starlink Ethernet connection. I use one of the two LAN ports for the office network in this case. On the Pro 5G, I’ve got a hot spot on the WAN for an additional carrier, but would like to also have the ability to connect to Starlink there. WiFi as WAN for Starlink isn’t a solution in my case.
It was originally launched for just the Balance 20X, but will be available for all models with extra license, and one license included for all PrimeCare models: Peplink | Pepwave - Forum .
