Hi Guys,
It would be great to have the ability to create a WLAN with Peplink Synergy mode devices rather than just having the ability to use the wireless interface to create a Wi-Fi WAN. This would be particular handy with HD dome devices.

+1 from here
@Giedrius - Thoughts on this one?
As you know we have deployed a lot of these and having a Synergy Slave host a Wi-Fi for the master (with LAN access) would be amazing.
Even using a device like a BR1 Pro 5G to expand Wi-Fi using the Antenna Max would be ideal.
I would like this implement it as a virtual AP , and use the main router to manage the wifi setting of the synergized device?
In addition to synergized , often we may have a older br1 or other balance devices laying around that we would like to use as just an access point, this would be great.

i would like to see that as a feature too. we use balance 310 5g (no wifi) and a bone5g as a synergized device. would be great to have the bones wifi available too, not only as a wan connection.
I asked this in a related support ticket with Peplink some time ago, and they informed me then that it was on the roadmap. They could not say when, but they say it should be possible.
Yes! I need this as well
Any updates on this topic? Is it still in the roadmap?
We did a deployment with a wan aggregation switch and ippassthru from 3 br2pro’s behind a stack of 2500ec.
We implemented it with using private vlans , outbound policies, and additional rules on the 2500 for each modem on the wan side and lan side, we did this due to the locked down nature of synergy mode not allowing us to have seperate AP’s tied back to the main router.
The only thing we loose is wan quality signal on the 2500ec , but we capture that using a seperate report.
This could have been resolved with my suggestion here:
@Giedrius / @Eddy_Yeung Can we please include some LAN side implementations for synergy mode such as AP control. Until this is implemented I prefer not to use synergy mode.
I’d also like to see a wan-agent that can run on a peplink that can just fetch cellular stats for a peplink behind another peplink.
Hi Jonathan,
I will pass a message to engineering team ![]()
Hello @Giedrius and @Eddy_Yeung ,
We have been doing deployments with the Peplink BR2 Pro 5G models in Synergy mode, and they can be at opposing ends of the building where the core Peplink router is.
It would be highly beneficial to utilise the LAN-side features of the Synergised devices, so we could utilise the LAN ports and, especially, the Wi-Fi from the Synergised router. Our current solution is to run a separate WAP next to the synergiser router.
Looking forward to a solution on this using Synergy mode in the near future,
Marcus ![]()
@mldowling For exactly same reasons, we normally can’t use synergy mode.
