Balance 380 boot startup issue

Dear Support,
i hope you are doing well,

Recently noticed that my Balance 305 had a very abnormal looking LCD display… I decided to hard power it off and back on and the display still appears wrong. Anyone have this issue or know where I might begin looking for a solution to get a proper boot?
Thanks in advance…

Probably depleted BIOS battery. When this occurs, some of the Peplink settings in the BIOS is reset making the LCD display not work properly, and it will get a bootup fail for CMOS Date/Time not set. Easiest way to just get it booting is to connect a keyboard, press F2 which will load default values and continue. If you want to fix it, this is where it gets complicated. First you need to replace the CMOS battery inside, easy enough like on a computer motherboard. Then you need to have a computer connected to it using the console port. Then you need to use a tool to hack into the BIOS since Peplink has password protected it. Once you have done that, you can enter SuperIO configuration and re-select the address for the paralell port which will activate the LCD display again. Save & exit.

Best of luck.
