I intend to wire in Max Transit Rugged and AP One Rugged on my boat. The wire run for both will be short. Less than 3ft. What size fuse should I instal inline on each run and size of wire, I am thinking 18 AWG. Appreciate any thoughts.
MAX wattage on a MAX Transit is 18W (18W / 12V = 1.5A).
5A Fuse will be fine for this application put it as close to the power source as possible. Fuses are there to protect the wire, not the device.
18AWG is a very safe cable selection for this requirement.
