Wifi WAN not getting IP on Max BR1

Can’t get Wifi Wan to load Wifi IP. Using firmware version 8.5.2 and residential Wifi? Have not touched and Wan configurations.

Hello, @williamprattpe
Welcome to community.

Please… Can you check your device?
Model of your MAX BR1?
mini?
minihw3?
ENT?
Pro?
etc…?

It is a Max BR1 Mini

Please…

ok…so it is a hw3… because is running 8.5.2.
Is this a primecare device?
The primecare warranty is up to date?
Do you have the Feature Pack for MAX BR1 Mini (MAX-BR1-MINI-LC-FP)?

It is not a primecare device. I don’t know about the feature pack. I bought the device from a distributor and followed the recommended firmware updates. What do I need to do next?

What is Hw3 stand for?

Hi…
HW1 have only two rj45 ports (interface)

HW3 have three rj45 ports (interface)

Correct three rj45 ports

From the doc you provided looks like I need a license? I was using this previously without. Do they provide the license initially and require a subscription after a certain time? If that is the case, where do I access the license? Thank you!

Hi…

Do you have this device at Incontrol2
https://incontrol2.peplink.com

OR

you can go to
https://estore.pepwave.com
Type the serial number of your device, at search.
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

And you can check about the primecare of your device.

I have more info:
From Peplink Accessories I found that my serial number had already purchased the MAX-BR1-MINI-LC-FP. Ust have been when I purchased the unit. I had performed a factory reset (paper clip hole) recently when I had issues with both cellular and wifi. That is when I updated the firmware.

By doing these, did I lose the MAX-BR1-MINI-LC-FP? Can I check my unit somehow to see if that accessory is still attached? I am also getting “Failed Lease for Wifi Wan” connection in Event log? Is that pointing to not having the MAX-BR1-MINI-LC-FP? Can I get that license again if it’s already associated with my SN? Thanks

Appears I do have PrimeCare until Nov 16. I checked the license for MAX-BR1-MINI-LC-FP and put it in the cart and here is the message below: See my next thread on how I can verify it is loaded and if not, how I can reload.

hum…

You may need to open a trouble ticket with Peplink… They can check their database license and this way… provide the license string for you.

But… by default… Peplink device, store the license in his flash memory… and even when they have a factory default reset… the device keep the license enabled.

To open a case… please use

Also…
Have you try to do a reset of your device?
Just to be sure… that you have the WiFi WAN option?

I was having a similar issue but my BR1 Pro 5g wouldn’t assign IP Addresses to my clients. Through a lot of frustration and trial and error, I found that I had inadvertently selected the IP Passthrough option on my Starlink connection. Removing this resolved all of my issues. Maybe check this on your Wifi WAN connection.
