Why it take so long to make connection between MAX BR1 Pro?

Hello,

As I mentioned before, I have two MAX BR1 Pro 5G and try to connect them together with WiFi. (They all running same 8.5.2 firmware)
Now everything is connected as expected however it takes too long for the connection.
I don’t know why it take so long “Enabling…” then “Scanning…” then “Connecting…”

Everything seems so slow when I can connect to the router directly from phone or laptop without any delay.

I changed the option to check if WAN available

Disabled health check also

Still the same.
Any chance to reduce the time to connect?

I measured each process from power on to connecting to another MAX BR1

  • Login web start: 50 sec
  • Enabling wifi: 1 min 40 sec (!)
  • Connecting to AP: 3 sec

For this test

  • I disabled all cellular and only enabled 2.4GHz WiFi between Router #1 and #2 all running 8.5.2 build 5862
  • 1 PC + IP camera connected to Router #1 via Ethernet cable
  • Only 1 PC is connected to the Router #2 via Ethernet cable

This is absurd amount of time to just booting and connection.
What is it doing while enabling the wifi?
I am really disappointed with the result.

What is your application? I assume this is not a fixed install? Are the routers powered on and off a lot?

How many wifi WAN SSID profiles do you have configured? Is one set as the Preferred BSSID?
I would suggest you enable roaming first then depending on your application consider, turning on intensive scan and drop the Scan interval.

Yes it is for live video transmission for mobile robot thus time to connection is quite important for smooth operation.
There are only 2 routers and saved as preferred SSID and not allowed to other profiles.

Don’t know if enabling the roaming option would affect time to “Enabling wifi”
