Why is port 5000 open on the LAN side

Hello,

I ran two LAN side port scans against my Surf SOHO, firmware 6.2.0 build 1644 and each reported that port 5000 was open. An nmap scan said the port was

nuttcp network throughput tester 7.1.6

Is the port open on purpose? If so, what is it used for?

Yes, it’s open on purpose. This is used for large deployments on a city-wide Wi-Fi network where a nuttcp server exists for throughput testing. This is an MSP feature the average customer will never use.
