Why chose Peplink?

Why chose Peplink? For some, Speed Fusion. For others, load balancing multiple WAN connections. For me, this article sums it up.

Ransomware gangs are increasingly going after SonicWall devices
by Catalin Cimpanu June 9, 2021

“Over the course of the last few months, cybercrime groups have increasingly targeted SonicWall devices in order to breach corporate networks and deploy ransomware. The attacks come after enterprise-grade networking equipment from Citrix, F5, Pulse Secure, Fortinet, and Palo Alto Networks was abused in a similar manner across 2019 and 2020, with enterprise VPNs and network gateways representing a popular entry point for ransomware gangs.”

To this, I would add the huge number of security flaws generated by Cisco.

My decision as well. Your website routersecurity.org got me started on this path.

Sadly Peplink is out of reach for most people, budget and knowledge wise.

It’s a hard sell in the consumer market to convince someone in buying $500 plus system that will be too complex for them to install and manage whe they can drive to BestBuy and buy a “plug and play” mesh system and hire Geek Squad if they have problems.

But that isn’t really Peplinks target market anyways.

I’m enjoying using their products and securing my home network.

Using Speedfusion and FusionHub to stabilize a livestream setup is pretty interesting.
