Hi,
We are thinking of buying Balance 30 LTE. But some says Cellular providers don’t allow to use the cell plan of cell phones or tablets. Some says if it is detected, it will be slow down or disabled.
I have a hard time finding the right plan from the providers.
I saw Verizon has an unlimited prepaid plan which could be use. The best cell reception in our area is Verizon.
Any suggestions please. Thanks
You need to purchase a mobile hotspot plan. The Peplink will come up as a Mobile Hotspot in most of the carriers IMEI tables.
Verizon works on Peplink equipment, and is aware of what the equipment is. SIM cards can be activated directly on the Peplink device IMEI, as long as the plan supports mobile routers.
E.g., we have one deployment with a Balance 30 LTE connecting through a regular line on a capacity-limited post-paid multi-line plan, others are on (now-legacy) postpaid unlimited plans with multiple devices (phones, tablets, routers).
Verizon has been good - on the “unlimited” plans it provides15GB/month/line at full speed. (Then it drops to 600 Kbps. ) For the capacity-limited multi-line plans it goes full speed within the plans’ overall capacity.
Cheers,
Z
Verizon’s $65/month unlimited plan is nice but it may deprioritize. Prepaid plans I think are lowest on the prioritization totem pole. Its really going to come down to your location/cell tower specifics. Some get lucky and never see deprioritization. Others struggle with it all of the time.
There have been some creative solutions such as the Rural plans at VZW and Mobley/iPad plans at ATT.
