Hi all
I’m testing the filtering options on BR1
enabled all the features (see attached picture)
anyway, connecting a client on lan Wi-Fi, I can surf on every site theorically blocked (tested on some well known porn sites)
device is incontrol enabled
am I missing anything?
TIA
Hi Nenonano, did you flush your dns settings between testing changes to avoid loading websites that were cached already? If not, type ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt and try accessing websites that you blocked again.
Hi Erik
yes… did it at least twice and tested from a new pc from a new profile… no way
Hi customer,
I have a few questions:
what is the firmware running in BR1 ?
can you make sure the wireless client is indeed connected to the correct ssid ?
do you mind to share the urls of the porn sites that you tested ? (would like to test it inside the lab here)
any settings being configured at ‘Exempted User Groups’ and ‘Exempted Subnets’ ?
I did performed a lab testing using firmware v6.3.1, I am able to block some porn sites.
Thanks.

Yaw Theng

Hi customer,
I have a few questions:

hi…
BR1 is running on 6.3.0 build 1967 firmware
BTW, where can I find the 6.3.1? is it stable/released or not?
can you make sure the wireless client is indeed connected to the correct ssid ?
sure… I’m testing the filters once I’m logged in via captive portal
do you mind to share the urls of the porn sites that you tested ? (would like to test it inside the lab here)
well… i tried first with youporn.com … it works (meaning that I can reach/view the site) so I didn’t try with many other… beeg.com etc
any settings being configured at ‘Exempted User Groups’ and ‘Exempted Subnets’ ?
nothing… no exemption at all

hi there…
after upgrading to last firmware 6.3.1 (almost) everything is working as expected…
any hint to block youtube? I’m still able (on mobile devices) to use the app and see videos.
and, last question: is there a way to show a “denied” page when a site is blocked by filters? something that say “this site is blocked because it breaks our terms of service”?
TIA
Hi Nenonano,
Peplink has published an article on blocking YouTube .
This will be a standard feature in the next firmware release.
There isn’t a feature to show a “denied” message, you could add that request to the feature requests forum ?
