Hello
I have set up a MAX TRANSIT DUO PRO with SFC Connect, I have good redundancy, did some tests,
teared the WAN connection out, everything switched nicely without breaks to the 4G connections.
But now I’m trying to optimise data usage a bit.
I have done some tests with WAN on priority 1, Cellular 1 on P1 and C2 on P2.
This works and I have redundancy.
However, when the WAN goes out, I actually want C2 to kick in and help C1 with the connection.
Because when I did tests with WAN on P1 and both cellulars on P2, my videostream dropped for
a few seconds and that’s something that really cannot happen.
Is there a way to configure this ?
WAN smoothing is on Normal and FEC is on low.
*Videostream is an SRT stream to Clevercast
There are two places you can manage link priority from. Dashboard and Tunnel profile.
On the dashboard, the priority set there is link availability. Green it’s available red its not. You can then prioritize the available links at the dashboard.
To do what you want there:
Put WAN 1 and C1 in Priority 1 and C2 in Priority 2 then enable ‘Independent from Backup WANs’ for C1 so its ignored by the failover algo. Then when your WAN fails, C2 is made active. Assuming all WANs are in P1 on the tunnel profile then you will have bonding for WAN1 and C1, and cold failover to C2 (with C1) when the WAN fails.
To get hot failover you would put all WANs in P1 on the dashboard, then in the tunnel settings change C2 to Priority 2 leaving WAN1 and C1 in Priority 1.
Hello Martin
This is what I was looking for, thank you !
