WAN SmartCheck failure not in Event Log

I’m having issues with my 3G connection (not sure if it’s a carrier issue or B30 issue yet).

One thing I have noticed that the connection is regularly failing the SmartCheck test but this event is not being entered into the Event Log and I don’t get email notifications about it either. Surely an event like this should be recorded. (I only notice the issue if I happen to look at the Dashboard).

FYI, I do have the 3G connection configured as a Standby (I don’t know whether the above is true if I set it to Always On).
