VoIP not working with our Balance 305's

We have Ooma GRP2602P VoIP phones installed on our ships for crew use.

The phones stopped working some time ago. If we plug the phone directly into our Starlink router, it works fine, but if we connect it to the rest of the network - all controlled by our Balance 305 - we get nothing.

We tried different SIP settings, and adding every possible Ooma port/protocol to the inbound and outbound firewall settings…no change.

305 firmware is up to date.

What onto have this setting set for SIP. Try changing it and trying again.

SIP ALG causes many issues with VoIP phones. Compatibility mode solves it

We tried Compatibility Mode, and quite a few custom port settings specific to Ooma…no change.

@Kemp_Hiatt ,

Can you please create a ticket for support team to check on that ?

I had similar issues and turning off SIP ALG on the Balance fixed it right away. Also make sure the firewall isn’t blocking any of the VoIP ports your provider needs.

I had a similar issue and it turned out the problem was with how SIP traffic was handled over multiple WANs. My voip provider needed consistent IP mapping, so I used outbound policies to force VOIP traffic through just one WAN. Also made sure SIP ALG was off—it was messing with the signaling. You might want to double-check those settings if your voip provider uses SIP.
