Hello all,
Here is my situation and what would be awesome to have…
I have a holiday home in the south of France. The house is not connectable to DSL or Cable because of its remote location. That is why I need to call on 4G/LTE to provide the Internet. I have a subscription with SFR (provider) with a monthly limit of 100gb. I have a Max BR1 Mini (which I love very much!)
Tenants can rent the house per week or several weeks.
Because of the limit of 100gb per month I apply the principle of +/- 3GB per day.
I use InControl2 to check every day if the tenants stay within 3GB per day.
If they exceed this limit a few days in a row, our administrators will notify them.
In this way we help them to stay within the limit, and I make sure that I don’t go above 100gb per month. (Everything above, → the speed drastically reduced)
Because the tenants change every week I have to be able to offer everyone the same speed. I must therefore closely monitor the monthly limit.
I use the built-in portal to get the tenants to accept the terms. (reset daily)
It also states that they have a limit of 20GB per week.
Sometimes the house is rented by 2 people, sometimes 3 or 4 people.
With the built-in bandwidth limit I can’t do anything, because the setting is valid for every client. I don’t know how many devices will be present.
I would very much like to see an extension of the bandwidth limit settings.
- Limit combined for all devices together
- Per day or per week, or per adjustable period.
- The data already used should be visible on the login portal.
In my case I would therefore set up 20gb per week in total. Regardless of the number of units.
Children use more, parents use less. Some day they use less, other days more. But it is the total that counts.
I realise that this is not a small feature request.
But it would save me a lot of work
