Unable to see Chromecast on same network with Peplink Max Transit Pro

I have a Peplink Max Transit Pro (FW 8.2.1 B 5018), and I have 2 devices on its 5GHz wireless network (The Google TV Chromecast and an Asus Chromebook) with a T-Mobile and Verizon WAN. When trying to cast content from the Chromebook, the Chromecast device is not found. If I remove both those devices from the Peplink and place them on a Mobile Phone hotspot they find each other just fine. Its only when both are using the Peplink that they cant find each other.

The only advice I have seen (for another peplink product) is to turn on the IGMP Snooping setting for the SSID , and making sure that L2 Isolation is off (Thats default) which is what I have tried… but still no luck. I cant get the devices to see each other. I cannot find any settings that would conceivably prevent this.

This is only a single LAN, this isnt a situation where we are crossing VLAN’s. Chromebook is 20.0.0.100 and Chromecast is 20.0.0.101 on a 20.0.0.0/24 network, DHCP is provided by the peplink.

Any thoughts on what I can try?

20.0.0.0/24 is not an appropriate IP subnet for private networks.

Changing to a proper private IP space may not solve your wifi issue but should be done regardless IMO. Use 10.0.0.0/24

Erickufrin - So I am quite embarrassed…I have literally been using the 20.x subnet internally for years as I believed at one point it was a limited private - but that was incorrect. It was only luck that I never had anything to actually route to that (Which obviously is now an MS Azure subnet in France!). I should know better, as I dont consider myself a complete net n00b…but hey - here we are…

I actually changed my network back to a 10.0.0.0/24 and low and behold - it works now? Maybe some L2 logic takes that into consideration for all the google broadcasts…or something…but thank you for the thump on the head for that one. Can never get too complacent  Thank you
