Currently sitting on 8.2.1 and trying to get the latest 8.3.0 installed.
I have tried both wireless and wired options and always end with the “timeout” error and have to bounce the device.
Is there a workaround for this?

I ran into this on a UBR Plus recently. I had to go into IC2, factory reset it, as soon as I did the policy successfully upgraded it, then as soon as it came back online I used IC2 to restore the last config backup to it. 20 minute fix, never had to go to the site, but annoying that it tried updating 10 times and failed.
We’ve seen this occur once in a while – not often . The easiest solution is simply to download the FW to a local computer and upload it. to the router. Your FW can be found at https://www.peplink.com/support/downloads/#ubr . The Use of IC2 is not required and no manual reset is needed.
I’ve tried every conceivable angle to make this upgrade happen. No matter what’s attempted the 8.3 firmware is uploaded, verified, and hangs at 10% complete. I’ve even left it running overnight and it never goes anywhere.
Eventually I’m forced to pull power to the UBR Plus and bring it back up.
I’ll submit a support ticket, maybe there is something else that can be done.
Thanks for the replies.
