UBR Live battery backup?

I wired in a dc connection and plugged it into a battery. Works properly.
Connected in the wired AC adapted dc connection (with the 4 ports), while the battery was active. no issue.
disconnected the AC adapted connection, and the battery persisted with the current.
reconnected AC and disconnected the battery. no issue.

Was I just lucky i didnt cause a problem or were these designed this way?

Its designed this way. All connected power sources act as a load sharing group, with current pulled from all sources continuously so that if one power source fails the other can take over seamlessly.

You’ll find the same thing on the Transit and HD2/4 series routers too.
