Surf SOHO reboots regularly

I have a Surf SOHO running 8.3.0 firmware. There are 2 WAN connections, one ethernet, one with USB ethernet adapter. Speed Fusion Connect license was active. The Wi-Fi networks were stable. Life was ok.

The Speed Fusion Connect license expired. I’m ok with not having that feature. However, in the logs I see the router rebooting regularly (at least 3 times over 2 hours). Some of the log messages include

SpeedFusion: SpeedFusion Cloud license expired

I already deleted references and configuration for SpeedFusion Cloud that I could see.

I don’t see the SpeedFusion Cloud license in the features / add-ons area.

What steps should I take to remove the SpeedFusion Cloud license from the router?

What else needs to change to ensure the router runs reliably without SpeedFusion Cloud?

Thanks.

Change the address bar to from index.cgi to support.cgi .
See if scheduled reboot or hardware watchdog is turned on?

Schedule reboot is disabled.

Last night I disconnected the USB WAN and moved the USB WAN priority to 2. The logs suggest there were no reboots overnight.

This morning the Surf rebooted again.

I disabled the USB Wan as another test.

In the last hour, the Surf rebooted 4+ times.

Any thoughts on how to gather more information on what is happening?

Current options seem to be

  1. pay for Speed Fusion which I no longer need

  2. factory reset

Any other ideas on resolving the reboot issue?

Do you have any QOS rules set?
Any advanced outbound policies / firewall rules?
How many users?
How many active sessions?

Small home, 2 people: 2 phones, 1 laptop, 1 tablet, 2 smart devices, printer.

No QoS rules set.

On the Advanced page under SpeedFusion VPN I did have some rules to send Netflix and other site specific traffic to one WAN. I disabled those when the issue first started.

I also disabled Speed Fusion expert mode when the issue first started.

25 active sessions.

I tried the following

  • download the active configuration
  • reset to factory configuration
  • upload the saved configuration

I also deleted all the disabled outbound rules in the SpeedFusion VPN section.

So far the router has not rebooted. Note: the router has seen less use over the last day.

The outbound policy rule configuration screens seem to change between the factory configuration and when Speed Fusion cloud is enabled.
