Surf on the go w/Verizon 620L

Consistent problem with the 5 units we have for our ambulances. The cellular connection lasts for about 5 minutes and then drops. WiFi stays connected but no data is being transferred. Firmware check on both devices shows “up to date”

Has anybody else had this problem and if so, how did you remedy it?

Do allow me to clarify question below with you.

  1. What is the purpose of using Surf On the Go in an ambulance?

  2. Can you share how you deploy the Surf On the Go. Where is the physical location of the Surf On the Go and USB modem?

We do recommend using Max router with external antenna in your environment which will have better reception.

Thank you.

The Surf on the go in the ambulances is to provide constant internet access to our tablets to allow completion of our patient care forms.

The device is mounted on a bulkhead at about head height with constant 12v power. The Verizon 620L is plugged directly into the router. We have plenty of cell signal virtually everywhere and an external antenna isn’t necessary. It has no problems for about 5-10 minutes and then the cellular modem goes offline. The router is still on and I can access the 192.168.20.1 page but no internet access.
