Subnet aggregation in OSPF announcements

Would it be possible to develop a subnet aggregation in OSPF announcements

I have 5 VLANs on a Peplink, for example:

  • 10.101.0.0/24
  • 10.101.1.0/24
  • 10.101.2.0/24
  • 10.101.3.0/24
  • 10.101.4.0/24

The 10.101.0.0/16 range is dedicated to the site, and I would like to advertise it via OSPF.
Actually, I can perform a static advertisement, but all LAN still be advertising. It’s will be better to only advertise the agragation adress.

Does it possible to develop this functionnality ?
In the same line, it’s will be better if the agragation can be calculated automaticly by the peplink.

Can’t you just turn off advertising the individual networks under Advanced:OSPF&RIPv2:Network Advertising?

I only advertise a subset of the networks there.

You can edit OSPF settings on the router to not adverise local networks then add the 10.101.0.0 as a custom advertised route.

Hello
Thanks for your feedback.
Where is the option to not advertise local network ?
Maybe I’m not in the right section…

@Julien_WGR if you want to only advertise specific subnets, you need to select the subnets to advertise in the Network Advertising section.

Or, are you asking how to disable route advertisements altogether? If so, what is the use case?

Hi @ChristopherSpitler
I have 5 VLANs /24 and I would to only advertise the /16.
