SSID with different VLAN ID doesn't hand out IP's

Balance 20, 7.0 firmware. I created a VLAN with ID of 2 and enabled DHCP. Assigned a port on the balance for VLAN 2 access. When I connect a PC to that port I get a valid IP address from VLAN 2 and have internet access, so I know the Balance is assigning IP’s for VLAN 2.

I then created an open guest SSID named Guest, and selected VLAN2 for VLAN ID. The 3 devices I tried do not obtain an IP address. When I change the VLAN ID back to the default untagged VLAN, all 3 devices get an IP and have Internet access.

What am I missing in the setup? Thank you.

Hello @joshua,
Is your LAN port on your router set to Trunk?

VLANs need to run through a Trunk port on the router, the VLAN tag is attached to the network packet by the WAP and then the router manages the network packet based on this.

We recommend leaving the ports on Trunk and setting up your VLANs & SSIDs through InControl2, here is a guide to get your started

Happy to Help,

Thanks for the response. This makes sense.
