SpeedFusion VPN possible in UAE?

Dear support,
Dear Peplink users,

We are trying to setup a SpeedFusion VPN over InControl between two Peplink MAX BR1 Mini devices in the UAE using the Etisalat cellular network.
We assume the network is blocking the SpeedFusion VPN connection as it stays on ‘Starting’. We have already successfuly setup a SpeedFusion VPN before in Belgium and we followed the same steps.
Could this indeed be caused by the network? Are there workarounds? Or do we need to look for other issues in our setup.

Kind regards,

Maarten Blomme

I haven’t been to Dubai in over 6 years but when I did I found that I could run a SpeedFusion VPN for a short time by changing the data ports (from 4500 UDP to 433 for example) but ultimately it was a game of cat and mouse where I’d change it and it would work for 15mins or so and then get blocked again.

I understood that you could (as a business) register a need for a VPN and then it doesn’t get messed with.

Things could be different no of course.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your quick and clear reply!
We will check if can also get a VPN for a short time to see if we run into the same issue.
