Firstly, I think that the latest Dynamic Weighted Bonding is fantastic in 8.3.
The improved DWB has made me re-look at trying to use DWB to give an unbreakable, lower cost, simple connection using Starlink with cellular WANs. I’m currently using a highly tuned Weight Round Robin setup.
I’ve done many tests with Starlink and can’t get near the specified 20-50ms latency shown below
I have 2 dishy and both are about the same in different locations in New York state. Starlink says both are working OK! The below shows latency against a 50ms cut off in normal weather around here (overcast but no precipitation).
I suspect my challenge is that latency on cellular is better, so DWB uses higher cost cellular.
I’ve tried various permutations with all the DWB options but can’t get any sensible portion of traffic over Starlink other than by setting Starlink as P1 and the cells as P2 in a Hot Fail / DWB configuration. However, as Starlink congests then Zoom / WebEx / Teams fail with poor network connections without the hot fail to cellular kicking in.
Any ideas please.
