Hi All,
I’m after some advice on Peplink Speed Fusion and how it can support existing customer IPSec traffic. At present we have a customer who is struggling with a single Starlink and they want to increase to 3 starlinks to give them the bandwidth needed. I’m currently looking for an SD-WAN solution that will bond/bind together all available bandwidth.
From speaking with the customer all traffic that is being sent to the Starlinks is already in IPSec format which is going to a UK DC; there is no way to terminate the IPSec tunnels on the SD-WAN devices, they would be used to bind/bond the available bandwidth only.
After conducing some research I’ve noted that the majority of SD-WAN solutions on the market are session based so with this being the case they’re unable to blend the traffic over multiple links as the entire session is set up and remains on a single link until degradation or failure.
I’ve come across Peplink speed fusion which is stating its packet based so it should be able to route IPSec packets over different Starlink connections therefore making full use of the bandwidth available. I’ve tried to confirm this is the case on line and after consulting ChatGPT its stating this will not be possible as the customer is presenting traffic in IPSec format. With this being the case it choses the best link and sets up the entire session to flow over that particular WAN interface.
At this stage I’m unable to test without purchasing equipment and licenses which I don’t really want to do until 100% this wil actually work. Has anyone got any experience of using Peplink to support existing customer IPSec traffic and if it is possible to blend across multiple links as per packet based routing?
Any advice/guidance gratefully received.
