South American Travels

We’re currently in Colombia, traveling in a camper van. I do some part time remote work and need a router/booster for the van where I can connect to WiFi. I think I need a 3G/4G booster as well…but I’m not sure.

I’m looking at the MAX-BR1-MINI-LTEA-W-T.

Does this have antennae? I think I would need an external antenna to better receive the 4G signal, but if this device doesn’t boost the signal, it doesn’t do me any good. I’ll be in places where there is only 3G signal, or very, very low 4G

Any other suggestions on what I would need?

@David_Rolfe I can’t comment on the suitability of the MINI-LTEA-W-T for frequency bands in Columbia … you should check that. It has 2 cell antennas but a good MIMO external antenna with 10db of gain will be much better than a booster. Getting it high enough to clear obstacles and be able to point at a mast is essential. The latest directional mimo antenna from Poynting is working wonderfully for me in area where there is 1 bar at best on an iphone. I know that peplink has just rolled out a new set of antennas but i haven’t tried those.
