Hi,
we are evaluating Peplink devices for our L2 Network which should work in a star topology.
Problem:
I can create a Hub / Slave network in IC2 which is a L3 network per default.
or
I can create a L2 Network manually in the routerns (HD2 and Transit Duo) where I cannot set one of the devices as hub.
The questions are:
- can I change a network from L3 to L3 if it has been created in IC2
- is it possible to set a devices as hub at networks created manually?
We need a HUB to route all the traffic through it, allowing us to test how bonding works. (we need simply traffic to see the link aggregation.)
Thank you very much for your answer.

I need to check the IC2 related questions or maybe someone else can answer those, but I can help with the layer 2 hub question.
If you create a layer 2 vpn between vlans on two peplink devices you get to choose which device (if any) will perform the dhcp role and gateway (or hub) role. So you can have almost any number of remote devices connected to a central hub device over Layer 2 with all connected device traffic traffic passing out through the hub’s WAN.
For example here is a L2 config screen for a device acting as the hub:
Here is that same device set to pickup a DHCP IP from the hub device over layer 2 VPN:

You can currently set the L2 bridging settings from the hub device firmware (as Martin pictured above) and use the pepvpn links created via IC2.

Thank you very much.
If I understand correctly a hub is set thru activating DHCP Server feature … ?
@JamesPep
Which links (created in IC2) do you mean?
Gr. I,.
You can create the star network topology via IC2. This will generate and deploy the necessary PepVPN configurations for each device to create tunnels.
Once the configurations have been pushed to the hub device, log in to the device web admin and set the L2 bridging.

thank you James, my config was more or less OK. The problem was that on both testdevices DHCP Server have been activated. After deactivating one of them, it was OK …
Thank you very much for your support.
