Slow max br1 mini lte Verizon

Hi all. I am trying to connect with a mini lte on Verizon. It says it’s connected but it’s extremely slow. The rssi is -81db and rsrp is -108 and rsrq is -9.5. I tried a booster and it went to -71 rssi but still won’t go past nearly .8 mbps. Is there something I am doing wrong. Some configuration that I need to change? Any help would be great. I am currently using a yagi antenna but it doesn’t seem any better than the panel antenna.

First thing to do is to ensure the SIM you are using is intended for use in routers. Many SIMs/plans intended for use in phones ir tablets will work in routers – sorta – but the bandwidth experiences will be painfully low (e.g., like you are seeing.)

If your plan is OK please post all the signal metrics reported by the router – without the booster. Incidentally, the RSSI is a “place to start” but does not provide the best information when dealing with LTE. While all of the metrics “mean” something, the one we find most useful is SINR – which basically equates to signal/noise ratio.

As to the booster … I’d suggest they should be used advisedly. In some environments they are very useful; in others they will cause more problems then they solve. I think the best thing to do right now is double-check your data plan and then to ensure you are getting a good signal – reposition the router, add an antenna, reposition the antenna, etc.
