SIM Failover Duration

Hi!

We are currently using a Max BR1 Mini HW3 in an LTE connectivity only application and are experimenting with dual SIM in a failover configuration.

For our application and operating area we find that Signal Strength is not often a performance limiter for our throughput needs, rather signal quality is. As such, we’ve employed failover from SIM A to SIM B (two different service providers) in case of low SINR.

This works reasonably, but the SIM failover time is pretty long at a consistent 2min30s. Are there any configuration items or settings to improve on this time?

Bumping up, any suggestions community?

SIM failover does take a chunk of time as it requires the modem to physically reset to swap from one physical SIM to another. I expect a good chunk of the time comes from the WAN healthcheck. If you are only using cellular try disabling that.

Thanks for the suggestion Martin. We tried this, but unfortunately it didn’t yield any change in the failover timing. It is still a consistent ~2m30s. Any other possibilities to try?
