Sim bonding in maxbr2

Dear peplink users, can you explain to me how this configuration works since I have 4 SIM cards set to MAXBR2, 2 in each modem, and in each modem the cards have priority 1?

I’m just learning how to use peplink

Hi!

A cellular modem can have two SIM cards, one is active and the other is a backup. The SIM cards are not bonded. With the priority level you choose which SIM card is preferred and should be tried first when connecting. If both of the SIM cards are priority 1, then any SIM card will be used for the connection.

If you do not have a preference to which SIM card should be used - then you can leave them both at priority 1. Otherwise, move the non-preferred SIM card to priority 2.

So how does the system select the SIM card if the priorities are as follows: 1/1 or e.g. depend on signal strength, proximity to the antenna, etc. - or is it rather a random selection?

It then first tries to connect with the SIM A card. If it cannot connect, then it switches to SIM B.

thank you for your help
