SFC Tunnel Failure Causes Router to Go Offline

Hello,

we are currently experiencing a recurring issue with our SpeedFusion Cloud (SFC) infrastructure setup.
Our configuration includes three tunnels to different endpoints:

  • SFC-ZRH (primary)
  • SFC-PAR
  • SFC-HEL

We have observed that when the primary tunnel to SFC-ZRH fails, the entire router goes offline and becomes unreachable via InControl2.

Please see the below screenshot illustrating the issue:

  • In the moment the tunnel to SFC-ZRH fails, the cellular modules are shown as offline within that tunnel, although they are still active and connected in the other tunnels (PAR/HEL).
  • Starlink on WAN1 remains online, though it exhibits increased latency during the event.

After removing and re-adding the SFC-ZRH tunnel, the connection restores and everything works again as expected.

We are seeing this behavior across multiple devices:

  • MAX HD4 MBX 5G
  • Balance 580
  • Balance 305

This occurs under both Firmware 8.5.1 and 8.5.2.

We would appreciate your support to help us identify and resolve this behavior or ideally a way to prevent the router from going offline.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Matthias
