SFC in soho use case with B20x, 2 WANs with cable modem and fiber DSL

Good day all,

Currently looking for feedback/advice.

2 people working from home full time with consistent use of MS-Teams etc…

Currently running a balance 20x, 2 AP One minis with 1 WAN, cable modem at 500/20

Considering getting a second WAN with pure fiber DSL 1500/980.

B20x is under primecare+ so I understand this includes SFC with 500GB yearly cap and up to 200mbps speeds and virtual WAN license so I can use a LAN port as WAN, which I believe is capped at 1GBPS port speed.

What I’m thinking:

  1. primary WAN is fiber DSL

  2. hot failover to cable

  3. SFC with WAN smoothing for specific services, such as MS Teams etc and/or by device

    1. work from home PC connects to corporate VPN; web traffic and MS-Teams is split tunneled
    2. second pc connecting direct to internet for online virtual assistant type work with voip calls (maybe video?)
  4. outbound policies to further direct traffic for ex: apple TVs over cable ? Maybe not necessary with a 1.5gbps WAN?

As I understand it, 500GB quota per year is not alot for SFC and I have to be very selective what goes over the tunnel. Keeping video calls (teams, google, facetime etc) on a bonded tunnel with wan smoothing is the correct use case, but hopefully without hitting the data cap. Sending all work PC traffic over the SFC tunnel might use up my cap quicker. All other traffic in the home would go over primary WAN and hot failover to secondary cable WAN if/when needed. (appletvs, iOS devices, etc…)

Am I on the right path? Any other considerations or tips?

Thanks !
