I would like the OpenVPN client to be able to use an SFC tunnel (like BONDED) rather than forcing a hard interface.
What is running the openvpn server?
Commercial: ProtonVPN
why would it matter?
also I have my pc routed thru the bonded tunnel and can run openvpn from pc just fine.
don’t see any reason it shouldn’t work directly from router client.
I was trying to figure out if you were using the openvpn wan , the build in openvpn server under (remote user access) or the new openvpn client on the advanced tab. It seems that none of them supports an uplink of another tunnel.
I wonder if you use the Send All Traffic To option under the SpeedFusion VPN section if that would work.
Another option if you have enough wans would be to use a Speedfusion Layer2 tunnel, tied to a vlan network.
Then assign that vlan network in access mode to a specific lan port.
Finally use a short ethernet cable to give the layer2 interface ip to the wan port.
Then assign that wan to the openvpn, and it goes over a Speedfusion tunnel.
Side note:
I’ve had needs in the past for a wan to get an ip from a Speedfusion tunnel I wonder if using a virtual wan with the right vlan interface would now allow this to work virtually without having to use an external cable.
