Security Advisory: Blacknurse (CVE: N/A)

November, 2016 - a security exploit brand-named “Blacknurse” has been brought to our attention. It was made public here: http://blacknurse.dk/

Blacknurse is a type of ICMP flood that causes a raised CPU usage, reduced responsiveness on the target device which could potentially lead to a DDoS.

It has not been assigned a CVE identification number by any vulnerability numbering authority. However we want to acknowledge that any network device can be affected by this exploit and therefore it is in our customers’ best interest that we investigate the issue further, with the aim of providing a resolution.

We shall update this Advisory in due course.

Thank you for your attention.
