On the PSW-24-850W there are some 10GB SFP ports on those switches. Can 1GB SFPs be used in these ports as well? Or Just 10GB? Is there a white list of approved SFPs?

You can find a list of supported SFP modules here.
You should be able to use 1GB SFPs in the 10GB SFP.
