Hello,
I’m facing a problem regarding switching eSIM cards when crossing borders in Europe.
I have a Peplink MAX BR2 Pro.
For use I have 4x eSIM card to cover my regular route.
Cellular1
eSIM A - CZ Vodafone (used locally in the Czech Republic and roaming allowed in Austria)
eSIM B - CH Sunrise (used locally in Switzerland)
Cellular2
eSIM A - CZ T-mobile (used locally in the Czech Republic and roaming allowed in Austria)
eSIM B - DE Vodafone (used locally in Germany)
The problem occurs when crossing borders when:
When entering Switzerland, the device does not connect to the Swiss network via the local eSIM. The same problem occurs when entering Germany via the local eSIM of the German operator, or when entering the Czech Republic and connecting via the local Czech eSIM. The eSIM settings are fine and sometimes the device connects as it should when crossing the border. However, this phenomenon happens in 50% of cases and only a reboot of the device will help.
In the last case (entering the Czech Republic) the device is connected via the second local Czech eSIM, because we have 2 eSIM cards for each Cellular one in the Czech Republic. So here I can see the current status. In InControl I can see “Connecting” for Cellular 1, and even for several hours until I reboot the Cellular remotely.
I have been solving this problem with support for many months now (since February 2023), but to no avail. Tickets: 23021060 and 24100126
Apparently it is some bug, but it has not been resolved by any update yet.
I am currently using firmware 8.5.1 build 5714.
I will add that we have a similar situation on 3 of the same devices we use.
Please anyone from Peplink for help.
Thank you
