PPTP on Balance 380

Hi All,

I have a Balance 380 running on firmware 6.2.0 that I used as PPTP server. It is connected to a firewall where all our servers are placed. Below is a rough diagram of the network.

192.168.7.250 (Balance 380) <----> 192.168.7.1 (Firewall) <-----> Servers (192.168.1.0)

I can’t connect to the Servers behind my firewall. We also used the SpeedFusion (Layer 3) of this Balance 380 to another remote site where we only enabled static route setting to route all traffic to the firewall = Destination: 0.0.0.0 / 0 and Gateway: 192.168.7.1.

My problem is, how can I replicate it on the PPTP connection where all incoming traffic of the clients connecting to Balance 380 PPTP server will be routed to the firewall?

Cheers!

Any reason default route (0.0.0.0/0) is needed? I would suggest configuring static route 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.7.1 to achieve your requirement.

Hope this help.

Hi TK,

This is to route all traffic to gateway 192.168.7.1 so that the firewall will be the one handling all the traffic. I’ve tested the one you suggested in the recent firmware 6.3.2 with inbound firewall rules set as well but to no avail.

Is there anything else that I’m missing?

Many thanks!

I tested this is working fine. Please do me favor below.

  1. Connect PPTP to Balance 380.

  2. Perform trace route from PPTP client to 192.168.1.x. Please provide screenshot on this. If the info is sensitive, please open ticket for us to take closer look.

Thank you.

Is the firewall doing a NAT from 192.168.1.X to 192.168.7.1 for the return traffic going to 192.168.7.250?
