PPPoE Management IP Address

Hi,

the setting below is not mentioned in the 6.3 manual. Is this a way to reach dsl modems in pass though mode? If so, how is that accomplished? I have 3 dsl modems on static IPs and in the example below, I put the IP address in for one of them, but now what?

thanks in advance!

Hi,

Please find here for more details.

Hope this help.

Ok, I put in the management IP address for each of the 3 modems on that page.

But now, how do I access them?

Is there a way through the admin interface of Peplink? I can’t find one. I also tried through safari putting in the IP address of the modem directly or using http://IP address without success.

thx

Hi,

If you refer back to the example provided in knowledgebase here, you can configure management IP as 192.168.10.2 while modem IP is 192.168.10.1. Of course, you need to ensure 192.168.10.2 is an usable IP in subnet 192.168.10.x. Then you can access the modem with IP 192.168.10.1.

Okay, I thought I understood.

Here is what I did: All of my dsl modems are in bridge mode with static IPs.

Wan 1 – dsl modem ip is 192.168.1.10, so I set management address as 192.168.1.110
Wan 2 – dsl modem ip is 192.168.1.11, so I set management address as 192.168.1.111
wan 3 – dsl modem ip is 192.168.1.12, so I set management address as 192.168.1.112.

All of these management IPs are within range and unused. Is this correct?

So, I assume that I can reach the dsl modem by its management address, right? http://192.168.1.110 in safari, but get the “failed to open page” error.

what am I doing wrong?

thanks

Hi Shadowboxer,

Please change as below:-

Wan 1 – dsl modem ip is 192.168.1.1, so management address as 192.168.1.11
Wan 2 – dsl modem ip is 192.168.2.1, so management address as 192.168.2.11
wan 3 – dsl modem ip is 192.168.3.1, so management address as 192.168.3.11

Then you may reach your modem with http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 or http://192.168.3.1 respectively if modem support HTTP.
