Ping Only Receiving Reply in One Direction via SpeedFusion

Hi Y’all,

I am pulling my hair trying to figure out what I am missing here. I am new to Peplink and SpeedFusion and for the most part, my experience with the platform has been a dream come true. I am having one ‘issue’ that has me stumped…I’m hoping somebody can help me have the ‘Ah Ha’ moment I’m looking for.

I have 4 IP devices connected to a Max BR1 Mini. I have a FusionHub VM (8.3.0 build 5140) deployed in an Azure Virtual Network. I have a Windows VM deployed in the same Azure subnet as the LAN interface of the FusionHub. I have a SpeedFusion VPN connected between the Max BR1 and the FusionHub. I’m attempting to setup a simple ICMP up/down monitor on the Windows VM but I cannot get a reply from any of the devices connected to the Max BR1 Mini. Here is why I’m going a tad crazy…

  1. All 4 devices can successfully the Windows VM
  2. Despite the VM->Device Ping Failure, I can access all 4 devices via either HTTP/HTTPS/SSH from the VM through the VPN.
  3. I can see both the inbound and outbound Pings in the Max BR1 Active Sessions Lists. The Source, Destination, Service, and Interface are correct for all sessions in both the inbound and outbound lists.

I’m pretty sure that I’m stuck in some nether world between Azure and Peplink here…the problem is probably some combination of Peplink Outbound Policies, Azure Routes, and Azure Security Groups but I cannot seem to find the correct combination. I suppose I should not complain, aside for my desire to setup some monitoring, all other traffic is working just fine. I just can’t leave this issue without some sort of explanation…

I thank all in advanced for any wisdom that y’all can provide me.
