Pepwave and Greek SIM Cards

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in Greece and experiencing a persistent issue with my Pepwave MAX-HD-MBX-GLTE-G, which is connected to a Pepxim SIM Injector.

I’ve tried using three different local Greek SIM cards (Vodafone Greece, Cosmote, and Nova), but none of them are able to establish a connection. The device stays stuck on “Obtaining IP Address”, even though APN settings are correctly configured.

To rule out issues with the SIMs themselves, I tested all three in a Samsung smartphone, and they all work perfectly, with immediate data connection. Additionally, when I insert my Italian SIM card into the Pepwave unit, it connects and works without any issue.

I faced the same issue the past summer here in Greece with a Vodafone SIM Card but after that i bought a Cosmote card and it worked immediatly. But this year it seems that any SIM isn’t working in the system.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior while in Greece? Are there any known compatibility issues or configuration tips for using Greek SIMs with Peplink devices?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Could you verify if Roaming is enabled and APN settings are configured for all SIMs under the Misc. Settings | RemoteSIM Management ?

Hi,

thank you for your answer,

in Dashboard–>Cellurar all the APN are sets and also Roaming is selected.
As you suggest i also set the APN in Advanced–>Misc.Setting (roaming was already sets)

But, unfortunately the result is the same infinite loop trying to connecting, i uploaded a video in Youtube to show what’s happening

Please confirm whether you are using the latest firmware versions on the MBX (8.5.2) and SIM Injector (1.2.4).

Based on the video, it’s difficult to determine the cause of the issue. We would need to review the logs directly from the MBX.
Submit a ticket where we could continue: Peplink Ticketing System

Firmware MBX is 8.5.1 and pepxim 1.1.140

I’m going to open a ticket, because i really need to solve.
At this very moment i bought a 5G router to connect directly on the WAN port of the MBX
