PepVPN Backward Compatabiltiy

If all my units are on FW 7.1.0 and I set PePVPN Settings - > Backward compatibility → Restricted:

The new Jan 2018 MAX manual has this option as “Latest” as per below image:

Manual says:
Backward Compatibility
Determine the level of backward compatibility needed for PepVPN tunnels. The use of the
Latest​ setting is recommended as it will improve the performance and resilience of
SpeedFusion connections.

So in effect what this is saying is that with this set we get better PepVPN performance? How much better and why?

Thank you for pointing out the unclear information for the user manual. We have reviewed again the MAX manual and we will fix the unclear info accordingly.

Basically the “Backward Compatibility” option is use to restricted the firmware version for the PepVPN connections and to comply the PCI DSS requirement.

How do I distinguished TLS Version? What is the different of High , Restricted and latest? Which firmware version include that?
