Both Cellular channels are showing “Initializing” and no Cellular LED at all.

Have you tried using the sim cards in a phone?
Some times there are sim cards that only be used in a phone.

Also is roaming needed to be enabled?

In you webadmin dashboard go to your cellular WAN options:

Then you will scroll down to Cellular settings and above the APN settings you can find Data Roaming. check the box:

OK I don’t have that option - different version of firmware perhaps. I’m at 8.5.1 build 5714

I rounded up another Router same model. This is working with a Hologram SIM and the interesting thing is that the configuration includes a Peplink eSIM option which is used by the working router. See the attached image

The broken Router does not have the Peplink eSIM option which may be significant? How do I get the Peplink eSIM option enabled?

There’s 2 hardware versions of that model, what version is the working and non-working unit?

Both have the same model number. A227 is the bad Peplink.


I should note I did downgrade the firmware version so they match.

Sent you a DM, let’s get this on a ticket and troubleshoot further

This issue has been resolved by Peplink support with remote access enabled on the Router. Details are not known.

Peplink has assisted directly in this case, I do not have additional insight.
